What is PULSE?

PULSE is a movement: a response, an answer, for something more, something bigger, something our generation is longing for. It's not about what we're against. That's all they know us for. And that's not what they need. They need Jesus: the only hope, the only truth, and the only answer for this generation. PULSE is about calling our peers to stand up and step in to reach our peers, roommates, classmates, teachers, neighbors, and co-workers with the love and light of Jesus Christ. If we don't reach them, who will?

PULSE is about us standing in response to God's heart for this world. This is our time.

About PULSE

PULSE is a young adult led movement. But don't let their youth fool you...

Through mentoring relationships with varying church and parachurch organizations, the PULSE team has gained experience well beyond their years, leading positive events throughout the Midwest and around the world. Through it all the goal has remained the same, to "put Christ at the PULSE of a generation" by putting on events that positively impact the youth culture.

Over the past few years the ministry has held major outreach events in India , Kenya , Uganda, and throughout the United States .  In 2006 and 2007, the PULSE team executed some of the largest student led outreach initiatives in the country.  According to a national speaker for Campus Crusade, their 2006 effort at NDSU was among the largest campus outreach initiatives over the past two decades.  In two years, their campus events at North Dakota State University (06), Concordia College - Moorhead (07) , Jamestown College (07), Valley City State University (07), Mayville State University (08), Bismarck State College (08), and University of Mary - Bismarck (08) have resulted in over 24,000 students hearing a clear presentation of the Gospel with over 4,200 responding to the Gospel.  During the same time frame, the team has partnered with churches in 9 rural communities to reach youth in areas with few positive options for teens.  The PULSE team also frequently partners with other organizations to train believers and reach people with the Gospel.  In 2007 alone, these opportunities allowed the team to speak to over 40,000 young adults, with hundreds more turning to Christ.

The secret behind the success of the PULSE team is simple: God is moving in our day. With Scripture and prayer as the team's primary weapons, a core group of leaders laboring for their generation, an experienced board of directors, and an army of prayer warriors around the world lifting them up, it shouldn't be surprising when God continues opening doors for decades to come.

According to internationally known communicator Luis Palau, "Our team believes that God will continue to use Nick and the PULSE team to reach this generation."

The teams' training ranges from experience with campus organizations such as Campus Crusade, Intervarsity, and Chi Alpha, as well as church leadership experience within multiple denominations.

History and Vision

2004 marked the formal launch of NHEM (now PULSE), but the core team has been working together since 2002, striving to use their gifts to impact their generation with the Gospel.

It was during their College year that many members saw the need for Unifying the Christian body and Proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ. According to PULSE director Nick Hall, "We just became fed up with watching our peers step into destructive situations and relationships while never doing anything about it. We decided that if the Gospel is the greatest news on earth, then our lives should start reflecting it. God was calling us to stand up and do something to bridge the gap between believers wanting to see things happen, and their non-Christian friends who had neither heard the Gospel OR seen it lived out." While many young people know what Christians stand against, most have no idea what Jesus stands for. Thus the central thrust of PULSE is to bring believers together around the positve message of the Gospel, proclaiming the love of Christ through every means available.

By God's grace, the current focus of PULSE is to strategically impact: COLLEGE campuses , MID-SIZED Communities, and YOUTH abroad.

Over the past few years the PULSE ministry has ministered at hundreds of events with audiences of all ages. They have ministered in front of thousands, but feel equally at home with a youth group of fifty. Wherever they minister, the central desire is to point people to Christ... calling unbelievers to consider the claims and believers to be active in living out their faith.

Whatever the size of your event, PULSE would love to partner with you to reach people with the Good News of Jesus Christ, equip believers to share their faith, and challenge students to be passionately sold out for our Savior.

PULSE is a passionate, relational, and dynamic ministry that presents the message of the Gospel in a very relevant way, but with a boldness and love for the lost. I have no doubt that God will continue to use this ministry in a powerful way.
